About Us

Hi, I’m Theresa, founder of byway. I like to think of myself as an adventurer, outdoor enthusiast, animal lover and plant lover.  A few years ago, I felt the pull to create something of my own. I was tired of answering to someone else, tired of feeling like just another cog in a corporate machine. What I longed for was feeling—to feel inspired, to feel ignited, and to share that spark with others.

On a cross-country road trip with my husband and our two dogs, we kept passing signs for “Scenic Byways.” Those roads always called to me—the ones less traveled, with hidden pull-offs, overlooks, and the promise of unexpected discoveries. They seemed to whisper, take this path, dare to wander, explore, you never know what you’ll find.

And that’s when it clicked. byway was born. 

I could never picture my outdoor adventures without my two pups, Opie and Harley. They’ve been the heart of this journey from the very beginning. Since they were little, Opie has always worn green and Harley has always worn orange. That simple detail sparked the idea for my very first collection—bright, high-visibility gear inspired by them. Out in the woods, they’re usually decked out in neon green or bold orange, and it just felt right to carry that into byway’s launch. The very first products are rooted in them.

This company isn't  just about me and what I wanted to put into the world — it’s about the places that inspire us, the roads less traveled, and the animals that are always down for the ride. 

So welcome to our corner of the universe. We’re just getting started, and there’s plenty more ahead.
